2026 so far...
We kicked off February 2026 with our first Kup Grading for the year, our biggest one yet and first one since last July! 100% pass rate for our amazing students, and instrumental help from our newest black belts Freddie and Lucas, starting as we mean to go on this year.
The 14th February took us to London for Ali's Dojang Open, Maddie taking a gold and a bronze, Will a gold, and personal best score, Ashleigh bronze and Master Laura 2 golds! Our combined team with Hucknall took 16 medals and put in some incredible performances.
On the 28th March we attended the 10th Mayors Cup in Harrogate. We had a great day with fantastic performances from the whole team and some personal bests in the mix! We achieved 29 medals, making us the second most successful team of the day.
On the 5th April e celebrated Four years of being open! How far we’ve come. So proud of our club. Happy anniversary everyone.
2025 News and Events
Kang Han Ravenshead started the year in London for Ali's Dojang open Poomsae competition. Coach Ashleigh and Maddie competed in brand new categories, scoring personal bests and Maddie taking silver in her first competition as a black belt! Master Laura took gold in her individual category and a silver in teams. March was a busy month with our first Kup Grading of the year, and the biggest so far, this gave us yet another grading with a 100% pass rate and outstanding performances from all of our students. Our 2 black belts Maddie and Isaac where also instrumental in helping the day run smoothly. We also attended the Harrogate open, with excellent performances from all our athletes yet again.
Two of our students Maddie and Lucas went for GB Regional Squad selection, and where both offered a place!
European selection for Master Laura in March, presenting her with the honour of competing for GB on the European stage in Estonia! In April she gave an incredible performance and invaluable learning was brought back.
April took us to Liverpool for another poomsae competition, where incredible scores and improvement all round was displayed.
July saw our second Kup grading of the year, we had four outstanding double graders, Hollie, Zac, Frank and Fred! Our Candidates going for black tag and on their road to black belt were fantastic with the most outstanding performance of the day going to Lois! We also had our youngest black belt Maddie helping, supporting and inspiring throughout.
In September Gracie tried for GB Regional Squad and was selected, making it 13 of Master Laura's combined poomsae team now apart of squad. Master Laura's Poomsae team travelled to Basingstoke for the bluewave open, all athletes putting in amazing performances. The end of September saw our 7 black belt candidates go to the Dongmeng technical seminar with 182 participants, where they had an amazing time learning from so many new people and Masters, preparing their poomsae, self defence, sparring, one step and breaking for their Dan Gradings in November.
October brought us to the British National Championships, Kang Han had an exceptional weekend, our team took 45 medals, we had 8 National Champions, outstanding performances, personal best scores and ranked 6th out of 75 teams competing.
November brought the Dongmeng Dan Grading, Congratulations to our new black belts Lois, Lucas, Freddie, Gracie, Krish and Jhonatan and to our second poom Maddie and third dan Coach Ashleigh!
In December we had a lot of festive fun, our students still working hard and bringing the festive sprit with Christmas hats and tinsel, we ended the year brilliantly and will continue our growth and improvement in 2026.
